simply love

I can tell this is going to be a slow summer, so I'm going to spice it up by documenting the exciting things that do happen.

This past weekend, the five Russo's ventured to the nation's capital to celebrate Uncle Hamp and Chris' marriage (which was in March). Yes, my uncle is gay, and I've never been more proud or honored to say that. In March, gay marriage was legalized in Washington, D.C. and my uncle and his partner of 14 years were finally allowed to marry. I think that I am one of the luckiest people in the world to have an uncle (well now two!) that are gay. I have become a more loving and accepting person because of this. I am so glad that Chris has become another member of our family and will continue to spend family vacations, holidays, and dinners with us. Welcome to the crazy, dysfunctional Tucker clan, Chris! There's no escaping us now!

This weekend was such a joyous, happy and loving weekend. It was also the weekend of my parents' 23 wedding anniversary. It amazes me how much love and dedication the two still have for each other. This weekend, my dad was having major back issues and my mom was right by his drunken, painful side. That, my friends, is true love.
