Well, almost a month later and I'm writing another blog post. Sorry bout it. I've started settling in at my internship and I really like it. Last week, I looked at different websites for events that were taking place in Virginia Beach. The marketing coordinator is going to look at those events and contact them to see if they want to have their event at the Convention Center next year.
It's kind of interesting seeing who has events there and hearing how they went. Even an event that seems to be so easy and so well-planned can go wrong. For example, on Friday I was at the desk when a MOB (mother of the bride) came in to finalize last minute details and stuff. I got to talk to her all about the wedding. Then, Tuesday I got to sit in on the Event Coordinators meeting that is held every Tuesday. They review the events that took place the last week and the events that are about to come. When they got to the wedding, apparently the sound system was a bust and the bride ended up in tears. It was apparently a disaster. I could picture the MOB freaking out. Not that this was an ideal situation, but I liked seeing the complete circle.
On a heavier note, I found out that my boss (I guess that's what she is?) who was pregnant lost her baby. She was five months along and then they just couldn't find a heart beat. It's so sad and I feel so bad for her and her family. She's been gone all this week and I guess she'll be out for another week or so. It means that I don't have much to do, but I just feel so bad for her. I can't imagine being in that position.
To end on a happy note, I'm going to see Anna this weekend and we're going to a Red Sox/Orioles game! I'm so excited. I can cross Camden Yards off of my list of stadiums to see the Red Sox play in. Oh and I get to see Anna :)
