wedding friday

So, I'm back in Boston and life is especially hectic, but I want to catch up on the blog, so here's an update about Wedding Friday.

After a late night of celebrations after City Year's graduation, I woke up early to take a very tumultuous cab ride to the airport.  I don't recommend waking up before ten if you go to bed after three.  It doesn't leave you feeling very good.  Anyways, by the time I got to the airport, I was exhausted, but ready for the weekend! I'm sure I looked like a hot mess with no make up, my hair a mess and wearing a "TEAM BRIDE" shirt, but whatever.  I arrived in Baltimore around eleven and Karen picked me up and we headed to Anna's house. We steamed our dresses and got ready for the rehearsal.

The rehearsal went well.  We had gotten our shoes from Payless for $15 and they didn't have ANY traction on them at all.  I was outside of my apartment the week before scuffing them up on the sidewalk, but I was still nervous about the long walk down the aisle.   Luckily, all of the scuffing and walking around payed off and they did their job.  No one fell, which is a miracle because it takes FOUR MINUTES to walk down the aisle!  It's super long.  I thought I had seen long aisles in big churches, but nothing compares to this church.

Anyways, after the rehearsal, we went to happy hour at Pusser's.  I was still recovering from the night before, so I just sat there while everyone else enjoyed themselves, but it was still fun. We headed out to the rehearsal dinner which was at a really nice seafood restaurant.  They had crabs on the back deck and tons of other food on the inside as well as an open bar (still wasn't feeling it).  Mr. Fick gave a speech about the lovely couple which was funny, yet heartfelt.  Then, Anna and Mike had a bunch of gifts to give out, so they took over the show.  They had gifts for the bridal party (the boys got shot glasses shaped like boots...das boots! and the girls got necklaces with their initials and a pearl), as well as gifts for their parents. It was super cute and I really liked the necklaces. Mike and Anna also gave each other gifts and Mike's gift was this mailbox to Anna that looked like the one out of the movie 'Up.'  They were asking everyone to leave advice to the married couple in the mail box.  It was really cute.

After the rehearsal dinner, the girls just went to Caitlin's house and went to bed. The boys were going out, but Karen had to write her speech and I was exhausted.
