dinner at Bella Luna

I should really be going to bed, but I want to update this so tomorrow I can have a birthday post.

Last night the entire team (Danielle and Erica included) went to dinner at Bela Luna in J.P.  Charlie Rose, the Dean of City Year, owns it and invited our entire team there for dinner. It was so much fun!! I definitely recommend it if you're looking for a place to eat in Boston.  The entire restaurant has stars and moons around it and the ambiance is upbeat. I was sitting right across from Charlie, which was awesome because he's such a cool guy.  He ordered a bunch of appetizers, pizzas and a few entrees for us.

It was cool to just hang out with him and the team, talk about NHCS (his kids went there) and eat delicious food.  The restaurant gives out round pieces of paper and you can decorate them.  If they like your design, they'll make it into a plate. It was just another fun little thing to add to the night. Ethan, Erica, Arthur, Pat, Nick and I ended up staying for trivia (shoutout to Kristin Alexander because it just wasn't the same without you). I love trivia. I used to do it at school  every Tuesday and I miss having something fun like that once a week.

Today was a little rough because I think my body was just so tired. I actually ended up going home early because I felt so achy and shaky. It was one of those things where I definitely could  have stayed, but it probably would have meant being sick tomorrow, which is just not an option. So, I came home after lunch, took a three hour nap and felt SO much better.

I can't wait for tomorrow to be with my kids on my birthday. I know they were doing a special project when I was supposed to be with my middle schoolers and I wonder if that has anything to do with my birthday. Even if it doesn't, some of them have written me birthday cards already and that is plenty of love. I told my middle schoolers that tomorrrow was my birthday and I expected gifts, cards and food. They looked at me like I was crazy. We shall see what tomorrow brings.

The quote I wrote on the plate at Bella Luna was....
"Shoot for the moon, even if you miss you'll land among the stars."
