Whelp, this morning we had meeting number two with JA. Mrs. McPherson (the English teacher) talked with her during morning reading while I was with my other kids, which was good because she wasn't in morning reading. Yesterday she was back to her old, hormonal self arguing and making a huge scene out of everything, so I ended up signing her in again.
So, anyways, this morning Mrs. McPherson pulled her out to talk to her and we tried talking again. I don't know if it will really help for longer than a week, but I mean it's something. When she came to course coaching, she was in a better mood than she has been in morning reading, so that's good. I'm starting to get frustrated with this whole thing because I feel like nothing is working for more than a few days. It didn't bother me at first, but now it's starting to wear me down.
We had another kid join us for course coaching, starting today. He's in sixth grade, which is a little complicated since both JA and JR are in seventh and have the same homework. He seems like a lot of fun, but a big talker which is going to probably be a big challenge since JA will use that to get out of doing anything as well. IT should make for a much more rowdy course coaching group. Poor JR is going to not know what's hit her. She's so quiet.
Last, a few of us stayed to help distribute cookie dough which was a fundraiser that the PTA was running. A lot of us were planning on helping out at the PTA meeting that was supposed to be at 6:30, so in total I think seven out of ten of us stayed late. Well, apparently an email went around last week letting everyone know that the meeting was cancelled and somehow Danielle didn't see it. Plus, the PTA people had so many volunteers that we ended up just being in the way when helping to distribute the stuff. Cool Danielle. Just had another twelve hour day for nothing. Lame sauce.
In other news, Ms. Moulton wasn't feeling great so I got to run parts of the class. She had a meeting during snack so I ran snack and read a story to them at the carpet. Sounds so simple, right? WRONG. Sitting at the carpet was so much more hectic than when she is in charge. Whyyyyy? I have no idea. Then, I read them a story and everyone has a question, a story of their own, needs a tissue or suddenly has to go to the bathroom. It was chaos.
I'm getting excited for this weekend because Michelle is coming into the city and we're going to see the newest Twilight movie. I can't wait to see her because it's been foreverrrr. I thought that us living so close would mean we saw each other all the time, but she works on the weekends and I'm so busy during the week, we have probably seen each other four times this fall. So sad. On Sunday, my team is having Thanksgiving dinner at my house and I cannot wait to eat all the delicious food. YUM. It should be great. Plus, I think it will be really good for us to just hang out and spend time with each other outside of school.
P.S. One week from today and I will be in home sweet Virginia.
