It's been a great first week. I think my classes are going to be great, yet a lot of work. I'm glad I'm only taking twelve credits because it will help even out the amount of work. I started back at work today and even though I would have rather been napping, it was nice to see Dan and the gang again.
I've loved seeing everyone. The first week is always full of "how was your break?" and "do you like your schedule?" as well as the endless amounts of hugs and smiles when you run into people. It's pretty relaxing since there isn't much homework to do. In fact, I went into Carrier last night and there were two people there. I was just picking up a book, but I wanted to yell at those people and be like "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?!?!?! IT'S THE FIRST WEEK OF CLASSES!!"
I do miss home, though. As much as I love the independence with school, I miss the love that I get at home. At school, there's always that concern of whether you're fitting in or aren't being invited to something. At home, you know your family loves you and you can't really miss anything because you live in the same house as them.
Despite the stress that comes with school, I am glad to be back. This semester, more than ever, I am proud to be a JMU duke. I feel the need to cherish every single moment, good and bad, because soon the jmu life will no longer be mine.
