I realized that it may be hard to picture a day in my life because I don't always start at the beginning, go in order, or end at the end of the day. So, since today was pretty uneventful and normal, I figured I would just show you my schedule. So here it is!
5:15 Wake up
6:05-6:18 Leave the house and walk to the T
6:20 Catch the Orange Line to Downtown Crossing and switch to the Red Line
7:05 Get off the Red Line at Field's Corner and catch the bus to NHCS
7:30 Morning circle with my team so we can go over any announcements for the day
7:40-8:10 Morning reading with my seventh graders
8:15 Head to first grade
10:00 SNACK!! (I'm always starving and make sure to bring a snack just like my first graders)
10:15 Writer's Workshop
11:15 Arts Rotation (Art, music, gym, technology)/ my break!
12:00 pick the kids up from arts rotation and go to recess
12:30 lunch
1:00 Math
2:15 leave first grade to go to Enrichments
2:30- 3:20 Enrichments with the middle schoolers
3:25- 4:30 Course Coaching with my middle school girls
4:45 Final circle with my team to go over the day
That's a normal day. It's crazy busy and it goes by so fast, but it's always a ton of fun and there's never a dull moment. Today, I got hit in the head with the frisbee during enrichments, for example. Or, today we started Lunch Buddies which is a program where I take two kids out for lunch and work with them on their behavior. When another kid found out (JC) that he wasn't going with me, he started to cry. It was heartbreaking. I live for my half hour break some days, and then others, it comes and goes and I don't even realize what time it is.
All in a day's work, my friends.
