weekend series part 2: Bachelorette party

After the midnight showing of the Hunger Games, I was up a few hours later for my flight to Maryland for BRIDAL WEEKEND 2012!! Karen and I randomly shouted that throughout the weekend just to add to the excitement.

Anyways, I landed in Maryland around 11:30 and Anna's mom and her best friend (Mrs. Trish) were there waiting.  We went out to lunch and ran some errands downtown.  By the time we were done, I was basically falling asleep standing up and in much need of a nap.  I slept for a while and by the time I woke up, Anna and Karen were there. We hung out for a while until it was time to get ready.

Catching up before the bachelorette party

Ready for the night out!

At six thirty, people started showing up at Anna's house and by seven, we were ready to head out. We went to a seafood restaurant in downtown Annapolis for dinner with all of the girls going to the bachelorette party and the moms.  I had a crabcake (I had to have one in MD!!) and we all had a couple of fruity drinks to start off the night. After we finished eating and drinking, we headed out to start our wild night out.

Anna and I at dinner

First, we went to Armadillo's, which is a popular bar downtown.  A lot of midshipmen (including Mike) go there when they're in the academy.  Anna had a scavenger hunt of things to do that night, a lot of which included the midshipmen.  When we got to Dillo's, the bouncer let the bachelorette party in for a discount and the minute we walked in people were cheering.  All of the bridesmaids and Anna were in sashes, so we stood out to the rest of the bar. As we walked in, a guy approached us and was like "my sister's getting married, what is on your list?"  He obviously knew how a bachelorette party ran.

One of the things on Anna's list was to do a shot, but as soon as she did that, she started to feel sick.  She didn't look good either, so we went outside to get some air.  We took a picture on the bench where Mike had proposed to her and walked to the next bar.  Pusser's is a restaurant during the day, and at night, they open it up as a dance floor.  By the time we got there, I think Anna was feeling better, but still not up for a lot of drinking. I was tired, so I just hung with Anna at a table.  She still had some things on her list, including having a guy serenade her. One of the other girls in the group found a group of guys to sing to her. I think, despite not feeling well, Anna still had fun.

I fell asleep in the car on the way home because I was so tired and was kidn of glad that the night ended around midnight and not at two like it might have if Anna had been feeling well.

We woke up the next morning to Einstein bagels and three types of creme cheese. The Degenhards know me well.
