Saturday was extremely relaxing. We slept until 10:30, ran some errands and saw the Hunger Games. It's just as good the second time as the first time...promise! Saturday night, we just hung out at Anna's. I was asleep by eleven because I think I was still recovering from Thursday night. Oh well. It suited me!
Sunday was the big day! Most of my planning had gone into the Bridal Shower, so I was anxious for it to come. We got to the clubhouse around 10:15 to set up and were all ready to go by noon. The shower started at 12:30 and Anna arrived around 12:45. We played all of the typical games, like making a wedding gown out of toilet paper and having taboo words that you can't say throughout the shower. There was food and drinks from BJs, which were delicious. Anna's godmother had made these magnificent cake pops that looked like sunflowers and wedding cakes. They were the centerpieces and party favors for all of the guests. We also had each guest bring a recipe to give to Anna and Mike, as well as write down marriage advice for the soon-to-be husband and wife.

There were like 30 people who came to the shower, so opening gifts got a little long. We had Anna answer questions about Mike (favorite family vacation, Star Wars vs. Star Trek, etc.) and a few people told their favorite stories about Mike and/or Anna. My favorite moment was when we asked Anna about Mike's most embarrassing moment. She told an embarrassing story about Mike, but it wasn't the right one, so we ended up hearing two! hahaha. So great! I also told the story of when Anna and I met for the first time and how she basically blew me off. I'll save that for another blog post, though. People seemed to really enjoy the shower. A few people even told us that it was the best shower they'd ever been to, which was shocking since none of us had ever planned one before.

This weekend was such a blast! i didn't realize how much I needed this weekend until I got there. I have missed Anna and Karen so much and just being with good friends is such a blessing. I can't wait until the wedding! It's going to be a wild 48 hours full of love, laughter and memories.
